Field Museum

Providing security and guest services to millions of visitors – while also protecting valuable artifacts – Monterrey has provided exemplary services to the Field Museum of Natural History for nearly a decade. We have also developed innovative approaches to security to meet the Field Museum’s unique needs.

As one of Chicago's premier cultural institutions, the Field Museum of Natural History attracts millions of visitors annually. Since 2015, Monterrey Security has partnered with the museum, working under the direction of the Department of Protective Services to ensure the safety of its priceless collections, visitors, and staff. Monterrey's embedded security management program collaborates with all museum departments to integrate safety, security, and guest services into every aspect of daily operations.

The Field Museum houses invaluable artifacts and exhibits that necessitate specialized protection measures. Monterrey Security staff are trained in specific protocols for the museum environment, ensuring they can respond effectively to any situation that may arise. This training includes the identification and management of potential threats to exhibits, as well as the ability to recognize and mitigate any risks posed by visitors.

Interactive exhibits at the museum allow guests close access to numerous artifacts, making vigilant observation essential. Monterrey staff are adept at monitoring for any behavior that could harm the exhibits or the visitors themselves. The museum frequently hosts high-profile events and exhibitions, which require skilled crowd management and event security. Monterrey Security's extensive experience in handling large crowds ensures that these events proceed smoothly and safely.

Protests and demonstrations occasionally occur at the Field Museum, and Monterrey Security personnel are trained to handle such activities with professionalism and respect for First Amendment rights. They ensure the safe and orderly movement of patrons while managing the situation in a way that maintains the museum's operations and protects its reputation.

Monterrey Security also assists with the secure transportation of valuable artifacts to and from the museum, providing escorts and perimeter security to safeguard these items during transit. This includes coordination with various agencies and transportation providers to ensure seamless and secure transfers.

By working closely with the Department of Protective Services, Monterrey Security aligns its operations with the museum's security policies and procedures. This partnership has led to the development of innovative security solutions tailored specifically to the unique needs of the Field Museum. Monterrey's commitment to excellence and proactive risk management has made it an integral part of the museum's mission to educate and inspire its visitors in a safe and secure environment.
